Open Mic & Karaoke

Open Mic at Footlight is back for the 2024-2025 season. Events will be held on the first Saturday of non-show months Dates for the remainder of 2024 will be August 3 and October 5. Check back for 2025 dates. As we continue to expand and improve this offering, there are some minor changes for the upcoming season, highlighted in the information below.

You have the talent. We have the stage. Footlight is a warm and inspiring place for our community, friends, and neighbors to come together to connect and celebrate each other’s talents. Never performed? Perfect! We’re nervous too. Come share some anxiety and take a chance! If you’re a veteran of the stage, you are also very welcome.

Doors open at 6:45pm. Performances begin at 7:00pm. With a 15 minute intermission, the event normally ends around 9:30pm. This as a family friendly event: children are welcome (and encouraged to perform)! Snacks and beverages available by donation. 50/50 Raffle with the winning ticket drawn after the final performance. Admission is $5, for audience and performers.

To allow for more performers, we will no longer have a "Featured Artist.” To encourage new and varied performers, we have an application to perform rather than registration. Performers will be chosen to allow a mix of new and returning performers, as well as a balance of performance styles. One week prior to the event, applications will close and applicants will be contacted via the email address provided on the application to confirm if they have been selected or not. Walk-in performers may be accommodated as space allows. Applications for each event will open after the close of the previous event.

Performances should be limited to 10-15 minutes. A keyboard, 3 microphones, Bluetooth, and a sound tech will be available. With advanced notice, we may be able to arrange for an accompanist. Not ready to be the center of attention for an entire 15-minute set? How about joining us for Karaoke? Karaoke Night at Footlight will continue this season on the first Saturday of most show months. Dates for the remainder of 2024 will be July 6, September 7, and December 7. Check back for 2025 dates That’s right! Come see the Saturday afternoon matinee the first show weekend, and return for Karaoke that night. This is an all-ages, family friendly event. Adults and children are invited to perform! Sign up with your favorite song when you arrive, and be sure to ask about how to vote for the All-Skate! Doors open at 6:45 with first performance at 7pm. Snacks and beverages available by donation. Admission is $5 at the door.
